The Best Hotels in the World

best hotels

When it comes to a travel destination, few things feel more indulgent than staying at a hotel that’s considered world-class. These hotels offer swanky rooms, state-of-the-art facilities and a host of extra perks that make for one seriously memorable stay. But it’s not always easy to know which ones truly stand out from the pack. That’s why we asked more than a quarter of a million Traveler readers to vote for their favorite hotels, and gathered up some of their top picks below.

For a luxury hotel experience in the heart of New York City, check out The Park Hyatt. The property has been around since 2014, but still feels incredibly fresh thanks to natural stone floors in the guest rooms and a refined aesthetic across all areas of the hotel. Rooms are large, with Duxiana beds and marble bathrooms that offer the chance to unwind after a day of exploring New York.

If you’re looking for something a little less flashy, check out the newly opened The Langham in New York. Its rooms skew unusually large for Manhattan, with a sophisticated look and feel that will help you unwind after a hectic day of meeting or hopping from place to place around town. The marble bathrooms feature soaking tubs, and the rooms are equipped with a range of amenities from work desks to flat-screen TVs.

This boutique hotel in Times Square is a game-changer, as it offers some of the most stunning rooms I’ve ever seen, anywhere. I’m talking Versailles-level stunning, and they’re loaded with high-tech features, including iPod docking stations and flat-screen TVs. Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

The only downside is that you’ll have to pay a little extra for WiFi (which isn’t all that uncommon for hotels in this price range). But if you’re willing to forgo that minor inconvenience, this is one of the best hotels in New York.

While most of the hotels on this list are in warmer climates, that doesn’t mean they lack for luxury and style. A few chilly-climate hotels made the cut too, such as Passalacqua, an 18th century villa on the edge of Italy’s Lake Como.
